I am working to achieve the goal of integrating my ideas using quotation, analysis and synthesis of relevant sources by continuing to work with peers and professors, to correct myself when these toolbar used improperly. By having my peers edit my papers, I am able to see where I may need a quote to better support the argument or angle that I am making. Using text evidence is a good way to support and give the writer creditability for what they may be fighting for. Over the years, my writing style has become more argumentative instead of informative. With this, I need more quotes to back up the claims that I am making – giving me every more reason to find quotes and text evidence to embed in my papers. Being able to summarize has something I have struggle with, but I will continue to work on because I feel it is important to have when a reader needs a short and quick understanding of what the topic may be about. I will continue to work on this strategy because I feel its very important to summarize and to be clear and concise with my statements. My views on the way I view summary, paraphrase, quotation, analysis and synthesis haven’t changed much over the past years but I do feel as if I need improvements in synthesis and paraphrasing. Being able to use these tool will help me build stronger papers and allow me to be able to support my arguments in a respectful way for the authors.
